Two big changes to the Marching Band schedule:
The big football game against Santa Barbara High has been moved to Saturday, October 28th. We will leave the Simi Valley Comp early and go straight to the football game to play pep music for our team. Oxnard has changed their comp date again, they moved to Nov.11 so we will do 2 comps in one day again. It will likely be Moorpark in the morning, and Oxnard in the afternoon. The good news is that now there will be no comp on Saturday, Nov.4 - the day of DP's Homecoming dance. Rummage sale fundraiser Saturday, Aug 12 on the DP campus- the tennis courts in the student parking lot (corner of Cathedral Oaks and Alameda) to benefit DP's advanced jazz class.

Items can be dropped off in the band room, August 7 to 11, 9 am to 5 pm. We cannot accommodate other drop off requests. Tax receipts/donations slips will be available in the band room. The Advanced Jazz class hopes to go to the Berklee College of Music's High School Jazz Festival in Boston in February 2018. 1) Emergency Card - You may print out and sign a second copy of the form from the Aeries website (one for Charger check-in, one for Marching Band), or you can fill out a fresh form.
2) Voluntary Activities Participation - For the second blank, the activity is "All Music and Pageantry-Related Activities" 3) Shirt/Shoe/Glove Order Form for Marching Band (this does not apply to Dance Guard) 4) Student Transportation Form. Required if you have a heavy-duty truck and can tow our trailer for Wednesday evening practices and/or to competitions. 5) Band Booster Donation - Optional. Donations aren't required, but they sure are needed! This form can be used all year long, as many times as you like! Band camp for all of the DP Marching Band and Dance Guard is Monday, August 7 through Friday, August 11. Band camp attendance is mandatory.
Students should wear sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, athletic shoes, shorts or sweatpants (jeans are discouraged). They should bring a reusable water bottle, a lunch, and sunscreen. And their instruments and music! Monday, August 7 through Thursday, August 10 from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM. No Wednesday night practice on August 9. NOTE: Charger Check-in for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors is Thursday, August 10. Students will be excused to go during their time slot. Please make sure that they bring any forms needed that day. (For all students, the pictures that they take will be used for the student ID card. For Sophomores & Juniors, these are also the school photos available for purchase. If sweaty kids don't make for great photos, there's always picture retake day!) Friday, August 11
